Downtown Dallas is home to big business and used to be a dead zone after the sun went down. Now, residential conversions and new high rise residential towers has converted downtown Dallas to urban living for a number of people, from those who desire a fast-paced hip lifestyle near all the action to recent retirees and empty nesters who want all the fun and freedom that a high-rise with a concierge, round the clock security and a convenient location can afford. If you intend making the Dallas Metroplex your home, I would recommend adding a freezer to your important appliances. I love to buy Angus Porterhouse at $6.99 or $7.99 a pound on sale when I remember it costing in the $18.00 a pound range in California. I also did a data comparison of income versus home cost between Encinitas California and Dallas and found a person in Dallas earning $68,000 a year lived in a home costing in the $200.000 range, while the individual in Encinitas earning $68,000 annually lived in a home valued at $695,000 at the time of the comparison.
I sold a home to a family from California that was sending two children to private school that could instead buy a castle in Dallas for the same monthly out-of-pocket. They instead live in a gorgeous home and send their children to the local top rated local schools. Texas is serious about their children’s education and do something about it.
My husband has studied real estate demographics and statistics for many years comparing the living advantages in the Dallas Metroplex with other areas of the United States and Dallas is a resounding #1.
