Keller
Keller is just 15 miles northeast of downtown Fort Worth and 25 miles northwest of downtown Dallas. It is located west of and adjacent to Southlake. Like Southlake, it has many gorgeous subdivisions, plenty of horse property and lots of trees. Unlike some areas where developers of low and medium priced new homes were allowed to remove every tree before putting up their subdivisions, Keller prides itself in maintaining a beautiful city with lots and lots of beautiful trees.
It also has an abundance of land large enough for raising horses and is sought after in the Dallas search for homes for that reason. Keller is located in the middle of one of the fastest growing areas of the Dallas Metroplex. It is only 8 miles west of the Dallas Fort Worth airport and 4 miles east of Alliance airport and its transportation accessibility puts the city in prime position for growth.
Keller has become part of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport complex and is close to the new Alliance Airport developed by Ross Perot, Jr., in connection with Fort Worth business interests, thereby making it a very safe investment for buying a home that will be sure to have future appreciation. Businesses come to take advantage of Keller’s close proximity to the two airports and around 400 new homeowners per year are attracted to the small-town quality of life and excellent educational attributes that encompasses six cities with 26 campuses, including three high schools, four intermediate schools, four middle schools and fifteen elementary schools of which two schools were ranked as National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, while twelve schools were ranked exemplary.
Anyone searching for homes in the Dallas Metroplex is missing the boat not to check out the advantages of living in the beautiful city of Keller. The quality of recreation sports takes a backseat to no one: Keller has seven parks and 13 miles of hike and bike trails along meandering creeks, in-line hockey, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and baseball fields.
In 1990 the population of Keller was 13,683. Most residents of the town work outside of Keller, but many businesses, including commercial and industrial, are beginning to locate in the area. In 1983 nearby subdivisions opposed annexation to Keller. New residential development is expanding the city in all directions. Ten years ago Keller's population was 4,000; today, 19,200 call Keller home. The city planned for its growth and has, in just five years, constructed a new library, police, park, and fire facilities. Keller Independent School District is now the third largest district in Tarrant County and is recognized as one of the exceptional districts in the area. Thirteen campuses serve approximately 13,000 students.
Keller presents a history rich in tradition and yet also offers cutting edge technology. We are the first city in the United States to receive Verizon´s new Fiber to the Premises (FTTP), which will be available to individual homeowners and businesses throughout most of the community. This new high-speed broadband technology will offer a new generation of communications for today and into the future.
In addition to the historic Old Town, our Keller Town Center sits in a beautiful park setting of open green spaces, lakes, walking paths, and trails. Town Center offers mixed-use retail, office, municipal facilities, and residential communities that are all pedestrian-friendly and with connections to our extensive trail system. This urban center is home to Keller Town Hall as well as the Keller ISD´s Natatorium. In June 2004, we celebrated the opening of The Keller Pointe, a recreation and aquatic facility that is considered to be state-of-the-art and described as the best facility of its kind in the southwest.
