It can’t be found on any map, but when the word “Metroplex” is spoken, Texans know exactly the area the speaker is referring to: the incredibly rich and abundant territory in North Texas that encompasses Fort Worth, Dallas, and all the surrounding cities and suburbs in-between. The rich and abundant area in North Texas that encompasses Dallas, Fort Worth and all the surrounding cities and suburbs in-between. It is really a tale of two cities; Ft Worth with its wide open plains to the west and the rolling rich blackland prairie of Dallas. The distance between Dallas and Ft Worth is only 32 miles apart, but Dallas is more sophisticated and glamorous, while traditional Fort Worth is proud of its “Cow Town” roots.
In my opinion D/FW is as cosmopolitan as San Francisco, known as a melting pot of ethnic varieties, and is the ninth-largest city in the U.S. Most people relocating to the Dallas area find the people are much more friendly than where they have come from. Dallas is also known as having more affordable housing than any large city in the U.S. and ranked #22 in Entrepreneur Magazine as a great place for self-starters.
